Dear Premier, I call on you to put an immediate moratorium on native forest logging and create the Great Forest National Park. Native forest logging continues at a rate of seven MCGs a day, bringing the critically endangered Leadbeater’s Possum to the brink of extinction. Transitioning to sustainable commercial plantations is urgent, achievable and long overdue. You need to keep your election promise and act quickly to secure future jobs, boost the local economy through tourism and ensure the protection of Victoria’s forests. It’s vital you act quickly to stop native forest logging, transition the industry to plantation and create the Great Forest National Park. Kind regards,
